STANFORD TENNIS

OUTLOOK: A new season brings fresh excitement to our great men's and women's programs. The men will greatly miss the contributions of graduating seniors, Bradley Klahn (2010 NCAA Singles Champ) and Ryan Thacher (2011 NCAA Doubles Finalist with Bradley), and the women will be without our great two-time NCAA Doubles Champion, Mallory Burdette, who has turned Pro. But the returnees and freshman are very talented, so it will be a fun season to watch as these players continue to improve. Our busy Fall schedule will be headed by our lone home event, the women's ITA Regional qualifying tournament featuring all of the Nor Cal, Oregon and Washington universities, all day, Oct. 19-23. If you cannot be present, follow the action on.

WOMEN’S TEAM PAGE

And so we begin our 2012-13 campaign with an outstanding team and plenty of optimism for the coming year.  Both Mallory Burdette and Nicole Gibbs represented us at the US Open this past month and had great performances. Junior Kristie Ahn also played some great tennis in some Challengers at the end of summer, which bodes well for our team.

Freshman Krista Hardebeck of Orange, CA will begin her college career at the All American Championships in early October alongside senior Stacey Tan and sophomore Ellen Tsay.

Freshman Lindsey Kostas from San Diego, who had an outstanding run at the Girls 18 Super-nationals earlier in the summer will begin at the St. Mary’s invitational in October alongside senior Natalie Dillon, and junior Amelia Herring.

While we will miss Mallory Burdette in what would have been her senior campaign, we wish her all the best success in her professional career!

We would also like to thank Frank Brennan and all he did for us over the last 4 years as our volunteer coach.  He brought so much guidance,  knowledge and experience to his second tour of coaching, and we will miss him a lot!!!

We are delighted to have the opportunity to have Lilia Osterloh, NCAA champion in 1997 and former top 50 WTA player who will handle the coaching duties alongside Frankie and myself as she completes her final undergraduate year back at Stanford.

See you at the matches beginning with the ITA NW Regionals, Oct. 19 - 23, and as always, thanks for all of the support that we receive from all of you!!

(L) Mallory Burdette - two time NCAA doubles champ. (R) Nicole Gibbs - NCAA singles and doubles champ.
