             WOMEN’S TEAM PAGE

It has been a fun and illuminating winter quarter highlighted by our first trip to Gainesville FL to take on the Gators in the regular season in 20 years!!  While we lost eventually 4-2, it was exciting to play in front of a huge crowd, the Band, and just about everyone who cares about tennis in that region.  The USTA provided their support and named that the “MATCH OF THE WEEK” in college tennis.

We also played Clemson in Gainesville on the trip and got a big win against a top 15 opponent.  That match and our win over Cal on March 3rd have been our highlights so far this year.

Weekend Spring break matches after finals against Colorado and Utah are followed by HUGE road matches against the LA teams on March 29 (UCLA) and March 30 (USC).  We hope for a big turnout of LA area fans for these matches!!

Please join us for Senior Day, Saturday April 6th to honor Natalie Dillon and Stacey Tan as we commemorate their illustrious Stanford careers.

We will finish on the road at Cal in a Pac-12 network televised match now scheduled for FRIDAY APRIL 19TH.  This will be shown live starting at 2pm with the singles matches!!!

We would like to thank ZOOM MARKETING for their loyal support of the tennis programs, and we welcome CITY NATIONAL BANK for their kickoff year of sponsoring the tennis programs.

                 MEN’S TEAM PAGE

We have had a very challenging winter quarter. Brandon, JJ, and I are pleased with the way we have competed in every match. Our schedule has been very demanding for the young team we have. We have battled through some injuries, and hope to be healthy for the spring quarter.

One of the highlights was our performance at the 124th Pacific Coast Doubles tournament in La Jolla. We had two teams make the semifinals. John Morrissey/Denis Lin & Robert Stineman/Maciek Romanowicz. Both teams played very well, and gained a lot of doubles experience. Another highlight was our team GPA of 3.6. We are so very impressed with what the players do on the court and in the classroom!

We are looking forward to our spring season. It begins with four home matches during spring break, starting on March 25th with Nevada, then Saint Mary’s on March 27th. Our Pac-12 season begins with USC & UCLA, March 29 & 30. The UCLA match is going to be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network. It will be the first tennis match that they telecast. NOTE: match time change-2:30pm.

After spring break we go on the road for our final two away matches @ Washington and @ Oregon, April 5 & 6. We then return home for our final five matches beginning April 10 - Pepperdine, Arizona, Utah, Pacific, and Senior Day versus California on April 20, when we will be honoring our graduating seniors, Sam Ecker, Matt Kandath, Walker Kehrer, and Denis Lin. The Pac-12 Team Championship in Ojai, CA, will be April 24-27.

We are looking forward to the NCAA Championships in Champaign, IL this year. We have a lot of work to do before that, with some tough matches ahead of us. We hope to see you at our home matches this spring.
